It was my brother’s birthday at the end of May and he’s been big into playing darts lately so me and Ban decided to make him a cake.
Bear in mind although since I got over my egg phobia I’ve baked a lot more cakes we’ve never done much actual decorating.
So off we trundled to Icing World on the Warwick Road in Acock’s Green where the helpful ladies behind the counter told us which icing we should buy. We didn’t have a recipe or design as such, just an idea in our heads about how we were going to do it.
We made three separate cakes so we could have the red, green and cream colours of the dartboard when it was cut and spread each layer with cream and raspberry jam. Quite pleased with the result considering we’re novice cake decorators!! My brother and family enjoyed it too.
