My Work

My Work

I am a trainer with 12 years experience working in the community in education, treatment and training around drug use and supporting the well being of vulnerable young people and adults in one to one and group settings. I have delivered training to hundreds of professionals across the health & social care and criminal justice sectors. My passion is helping people of all ages to understand drug and alcohol use to encourage informed healthy choices as well as promoting empathy and support for those experiencing difficulties. I am an advocate of harm reduction, service user involvement and supporting volunteers and I especially enjoy challenging stigma and discriminatory views.

I set up Inspire Health and Mind in 2009 and left my DAAT job in September 2010 in order to develop new projects in the community. As well as training I am an Advanced Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner and work with individuals and groups to enhance emotional well-being on a range of issues. In addition to Inspire Health and Mind I have set up EFT for Recovery as a Community Interest Company  to offer EFT to more people as a tool for change and to  improve the health and happiness of those affected by dependency.

Social media in the field is becoming more and more crucial and I am glad to be a part of it for new contacts, ideas and opportunities. I support others to make the most out of social media by running workshops and helping individuals in the set up and maintenance of Facebook pages, Twitter profiles and WordPress websites.
